Welcome to Woodpecker

Woodpecker Welcome!

Class Team

Mrs. Fernyhough (class teacher)

Mrs Wright and Mrs Williams (teaching assistant.)

Ms Majid (teaching assistant)

We are a mixed-age group of Key Stage 4 pupils in Years 10 and 11.

Mrs. F is our teacher five days a week, and Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Wright provide our classroom support (Mrs Williams Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Mrs Wright Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

Other important members of staff for us are: Miss Delaney (English and Maths,) Miss Taylor (ICT,) Mrs. Bani and Mrs. Milnes (Technology.)

We have a very busy schedule and lots of work to complete before receiving our accreditation (qualifications) at the end of each year.

They are:

Entry Level Certificates in Maths, English, ICT, Art and PE.

Asdan PSD Entry Level Certificate

Asdan Personal Development Program Silver/Gold Award

Asdan Science Short Course

Asdan Food Wise Short Course

And new this year:

Asdan Employability Entry Level Certificate

(ASDAN is an education charity and awarding organisation providing courses, accredited curriculum programmes and regulated national qualifications.)

Although we work hard, we also strive to have fun and make school a really positive place to be!

PE takes place on a Wednesday and pupils should continue to come to school in an appropriate PE kit.

Pupils are welcome to bring a water bottle with them every day – This is recommended.

Pupils do not need to bring their own stationary as everything that they will need is provided.

Student Planners are the easiest way to communicate with the class team. Pupils will complete any important information for the week ahead on a Monday morning so please check these regularly. Staff will also use these to send messages home and encourage parents/carers to do the same. If you would prefer to speak to us directly please contact the school office as one of us is generally on hand to answer any questions or discuss any concerns.

Thank you in advance for your continued support this year, we all look forward to meeting you in the autumn term.
