Autumn 1
English
In English this term we have been focusing on our phonics and handwriting skills. We have been detectives searching for sounds and got to use the tablet to practice our letters. We have also been looking at Adventure stories and learnt the story of ‘Around the World with Max and Lemon’, as a part of this we used clicker on the laptop to describe a setting.
This term we have been lucky enough to be able to take part in some drumming sessions. We have learnt lots of new drumming techniques and played together as a whole class. It has been great fun.
English
In English this half term we have continued working on our phonics. We are working on a mixture of phase 2, phase 3 and phase 5 sounds and we have played lots of games and activities linked to our sounds. In our English topic work this term we have been practicing building sentences using colourful semantics to help us.
In Maths this half term we have been looking at addition and subtraction including word problems. We used clicker on the interactive board to create our own class word problems and worked out the answer. We then moved onto looking at tally charts and pictograms. We created a whole class tally chart.
Autumn 2
Computing
In computing this half term we have been looking at internet safety. We have been creating sentences on clicker to make posters about how to be safe including what information to share online and what to do if we see something which we do not like.
Autumn 2
PSHE
In PSHE we have been looking at germs. We carried out an experiment where we pretended that glitter represented germs and we looked at how they easily spread. We then looked at the importance of using soap and washing our hands.
