Home Learning Plan

3N (KS1 ASD Discrete Provision)
Class 3N pupils and parents will be able to access a weekly learning grid that will contain a range of practical tasks to work on at home. As a part of this, pictorial instructions and individual symbols will be included at the bottom of the grid. These can be printed by parents or shown to pupils on iPads/computer screens during task completion.
In addition, pupils will be given a pack of practical tasks that they should be able to do with some level of independence at home. These are tasks that will help them to develop further skills connected to English and Maths and other areas of the curriculum (pupils are used to doing tasks like these in their TEACCH baskets). These tasks/games will be reusable and the packs will be renewed when parents feel that pupils are ready for new tasks.
Class will also send home new timetables and symbols for parents to use and these are the same as those used in class. Class will also send written instructions on how to use these so that their use is consistent.

Class 2’s Home Learning Offer

Class 2’s home learning grid will be published on the school website each week and it is intended that this will be as close as possible to what those pupils in school are experiencing. I will contact parents over EFL with an individual explanation of how each pupil could carry out that learning, sometimes with photo or video clip as illustrations. There is opportunity on EFL for parents to upload pictures or comments on that learning.

6B KS2 ASD Discrete Provision

6B have access to home learning packs which include activities linked to topics in our Spring Curriculum. The packs will include daily challenges which are closely linked to SCERTS Targets, fine motor skills tasks and all other areas of the curriculum.
Parents are encouraged to upload any evidence of home learning to the evidence for learning application so that class can monitor progress and engagement in learning. Packs will be updated in line with what we wI’ll be covering within school. In addition to this, parents will be encouraged to engage with their child’s favourite activities such as; reading, baking, construction and puzzles.

Class 4 (KS2)

Whilst learning from home children will have access to a physical home learning pack. Inside there is a mixture of activities; including numeracy, literacy, topic related, fine motor skills and other challenges.

The aim of this pack is to support parents/carers with home schooling.  Class 4 will have a home learning pack to provide some reusable resources that can be used at home. Repetition of key skills is essential therefore repetition of skills is useful.  Some of the activities are not reusable e.g. topic related colouring sheets. Additional work will be sent on a weekly basis to ‘top up’ packs.

All parents are encouraged to keep work in a folder so that it can be handed in when the children return to school. We ask that parents engage with Evidence For learning, either by uploading pictures or videos of the children  completing some of the tasks in their work pack or even just by keeping us updated on what the children have been up to and they progress they are making.

7W KS3/4 ASD Discrete Provision

In 7W we work on a topic across a half term.  We learn as much as we can about that topic across several weeks.  This term’s topic is ‘Wonderful Water’ so we will be learning about lots of different properties, uses and aspects of water.  A timetable will be sent home and will show which lessons we work on in the morning and afternoon each day.  Parents can choose how they want to tackle the tasks for learning that day at home.  Packs of additional activities to work on basic skills, SCERTS and self-regulation will also be sent home that parents can use across the week multiple times.

Parents are encouraged to check the IEP and SCERTS targets to find out which skills are most useful to their child. Parents are encouraged to upload photos and videos onto Evidence for learning so that progress and engagement in learning can be monitored.

Q4 (KS4 SLD Class)

Weekly learning packs will be sent home containing a mixture of worksheets and activities that we are working on in class that week, following our usual half termly topics (our topic web can be found on this school website under ‘About us’ and then the subheading ‘Classes’).

As the children work through their weekly pack, completed work is stored in a plastic wallet and will be returned to school by pupils upon return to school or via parents.

A wallet of equipment will also be sent home to use to support learning such as number lines, whiteboards and pens, writing pens, pencils, felt tips, pencils and glue.

Parents will be encouraged to record children’s work completed at home on Evidence for Learning (EFL). Parents have been provided with instructions to upload photos and videos to allow us the track progress and engagement in learning.
