Welcome to Class P4

Welcome to P4

Class Team:  Miss Rodgers (Class teacher covering maternity for Mrs Van Rooy),  Mrs Egan(TA),  Mrs Stewart (TA) & Mrs Davies (TA)

In P4 we work towards developing independence skills. We go to ASDA shopping every Thursday morning as part of our PSHE. We ask for £1 snack money to go towards our weekly breakfast and snack, which we buy on our shopping trip. Breakfast and snack are key times where we work on developing social and independence skills.

We will be having PE on Wednesday afternoons, so we ask that PE kit is brought in to school on a Wednesday.

We send a reading book home each week to be read at home, as well as 'weekend news' homework that is used as a part of our English lesson on a Monday morning.

We spend time each day developing our handwriting and fine motor skills through a variety of activities.

P4 Enjoying Table Cricket!

We took part in a World of Work day where we learnt all about jobs when we are older. We then looked at the skills we would need to get the job that we want. We completed lots of activities and had lots of fun.

To celebrate Chinese New Year we learnt all about the traditions and then made our own Chinese dragons.

When we went to Asda this week we used the shop and go feature around the shop. We had to sign up on the touch screen and then use the scanner to scan all our items.

As a part of World Book Day we looked at the story of Room on the Broom. We got to watch the animated version of the story then we acted the story out. Finally we retold the story in our own words either verbally or by writing our own sentences. We loved the story!

Our topic for science week for animal survival. We looked at what animals eat and where they live and completed lots of different sorting activities. We finished it off with a trip to Pets at home to see the animals and investigate what they eat and where they live.

P4 held a cake sale to raise money for Comic relief. We asked staff to donate the cakes and then sold them to the rest of school.
