Welcome to Hedgehog Class
Class Team: Miss L Bell (Class Teacher), Miss Gill (TA) and Mr Lomax (TA)
Hedgehog Class is a Key Stage 3/4 class. Pupils in this class follow an engagement-based curriculum, linking many curriculum areas and learning through a range of exciting topics that change each half term. Alongside this, students work towards the SCERTS programme, which focuses on developing social communication and emotional regulation skills. The programme also includes transactional supports provided by staff and is embedded throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.
During the school week, students in Hedgehog Class take part in lessons linked to Maths, English, Phonics, PE, Careers, Science, History, Geography, Art, DT, ICT, PSHE and RE. Pupils enjoy a wide range of practical activities designed to support learning, encourage engagement and help develop concentration and independence.
Snack money is £2 per week, or pupils are welcome to bring their own snack if they prefer. All students in Hedgehog Class will have a home-school diary. We love hearing about what your child has been doing at home during weekends and school holidays, so please feel free to share updates with us. If you have any questions or messages, you are very welcome to write them in the diary too.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and can't wait to share all the exciting and fun things we get up to in Hedgehog Class!
