We are one of two Reception classes at Green Lane Community Special School.

We follow the Cedar pathway, with a bespoke, sensory based curriculum that is informed by Development Matters. We enjoy lots of hands on, engaging learning experiences through a topic based approach.

We have a lovely outdoor area and we promote learning and play both indoors and outside throughout the day. We also have access to our Forest School areas, a large track area, sensory room and soft play! Throughout the year, we enjoy a range of trips and visits to enhance our topics.

Your child will be provided with a home/school communication book which will be sent home each day. We will use this to let you know how their school day has been and we encourage parents to make the staff team aware of any key messages. You will also have access to Evidence for Learning, an online portal which we will use to share photographs and videos with you so that you can see what they have been up to at school.

We will have PE on a Wednesday morning. You are welcome to send your child in comfortable clothing, suitable for physical activity.
