Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Miss Dobisova

Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Miss McNab

Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Mrs King

In Lavender Class, we follow a topic-based curriculum and use the SCERTS approach to support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation. We provide a range of engaging learning experiences both indoors and outdoors, including one-to-one activities, child-led choice sessions, Occupational Therapy (OT) circuits and sensory activities. As many of our activities involve exploring and getting messy, please ensure your child has a complete change of spare clothes in their school bag every day.

Home–School Communication

Each child has a home–school communication book, which provides an important link between home and school. Parents and carers are encouraged to use this to share information with the class team, and we will use it to keep you updated about your child's day.

Evidence for Learning (EFL)

We use the Evidence for Learning (EFL) platform to celebrate and share your child's learning journey. Throughout the week, we will upload photographs, videos and observations of activities your child has enjoyed and the progress they are making in school. These updates give you a wonderful insight into your child's experiences and achievements.

We encourage you to interact with the posts by liking and commenting, as your feedback helps strengthen the partnership between home and school. We would also love you to upload photos or videos of your child enjoying activities at home, celebrating achievements, trying something new or taking part in family experiences. Sharing these special moments helps us get to know your child even better and provides valuable opportunities to celebrate and build on their learning both at home and at school.

Snack Time

Children enjoy two snack times each day, which provide valuable opportunities to develop communication skills, symbol exchange and SCERTS targets.

If you would like your child to have toast at snack time, this can be purchased through ParentPay at a cost of £2 per week. Alternatively, your child is welcome to bring a snack from home.

Shopping and Food Technology

Each week, the class takes part in a community shopping trip to purchase additional snacks and ingredients for our Food Technology sessions. We kindly ask for a voluntary contribution of £1 per week to help cover these costs.

PE

PE lessons take place every Friday afternoon. Please send your child to school wearing their PE kit on Fridays.

We are looking forward to a happy, fun and successful year of learning with your child. We can't wait to see all the wonderful progress they will make throughout the year!
