Autumn 1
Bumblebee Class have had a wonderful first term adapting to their new environment and routine and have enjoyed our topic this term; 'Fantasy Stories'.
We have looked at castles, engaged with lots of exciting attention autism sessions, including making our own castles using junk modelling and using technology to design our very own Bumblebee Castle!
We have used text to input into different devices to make our own fantasy stories and explored a variety of texts linked to our topic.
In Maths we have explored 'number' through participating in different number song activities, recognition of number, ordering and exploring our number of the week bag discovering how we can represent number in various ways. The children have enjoyed all things shapes in maths; recognising shapes in our environment, shape sorting and matching shapes.

Autumn 2
Over the past few weeks, our class has been enjoying a range of meaningful and engaging learning experiences. In Maths, we have been exploring addition and subtraction through practical, hands-on activities. The children have been using concrete resources, visual supports, and interactive games to help build their confidence and understanding.
In Topic, we have been learning about Weather and Seasons. Pupils have explored different types of weather through sensory activities, outdoor observations, and simple experiments. We have been developing our communication skills by discussing how different weather feels, looks, and sounds, through a variety of sensory trays and creative activities.
We also had a wonderful Christmas adventure to CAFT, where the children took part in a range of Christmas themed activities. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to build up their confidence in the local community. We met Father Christmas, partied with Pirate Pete and toasted some marshmallows on the fire as well as visiting some of the farm animals!
Across all areas of learning, the children continue to make great progress, engage positively, and show increasing independence. We look forward to sharing more of their achievements throughout the term!
