Welcome to Hedgehog Class

Hedgehog class is key stage 3 class. The pupils within this class are working on a topic-based curriculum, link many subjects of the curriculum and learning through a range of topics that will change each half term. Alongside this curriculum the students will be working towards the SCERTS programme. This programme works on developing the pupil's social communication and emotional regulation, along with transactional supports that are provided by staff, this programme links will all aspects of the college day both inside and out of the classroom. The pupils will take part in a range of practical activities that help to promote learning, engagement and develop concentration.
During the school week the students in Hedgehog class will take part in daily Maths, English and Phonics lessons and weekly, PE, careers, PSHE and RE lessons. They will also have topic-based lesson which will include cross curricular lessons of science, history, geography, art, DT and ICT.
Snack money is £1 a week or pupils are welcome to bring in their own snack if they would prefer. All students within Hedgehog class with have a home school diary, please feel free to keep us up to date with what the pupils have been up to at home during the weekend or school holidays. Also, if you have any questions or messages, please feel free to write these in the diaries.
