Computing
In Grasshopper we have loved using cause and effect toys as part of our computing topic.
We have been following instructions and using symbols to support learning. Some of the toys were so funny and sometimes fell off the table when we pressed the buttons to make them move. The turkey was the best toy because it danced and when you held its neck it make a funny noise.

History
In Grasshopper we have enjoyed investigating transport from the past and present.
As always we used good looking and listening skills. It was fun looking at old toys and seeing how they worked. Mr Sykes brought in lots of models of old and new transport. It was fun trying to decide which were old and which were new. The old transport was dull and the new transport was bright and fast.

Maths
In Grasshopper we have been working really hard on making sets in maths.
We have made sets according to size, shape and colour. We have used symbols and communication boards to help us complete our tasks. We have had to use our best looking and listening skills to make sure we put all objects in the correct set. Mr Sykes still managed to make it fun.

Police Visit
In Grasshopper we were lucky to have had a visit from local police officers.
They showed us lots of equipment that they carry and different uniforms that they wear. We had lots of fun trying on the uniform and looking at the equipment that they carry. We were all happy that they came and look forward to seeing them again.
The visit helped us understand jobs that people have in our community.

Maths
In Grasshopper we have loved exploring volume. We have got wet pouring water from one container to another, looking at different sized container and how we can fill them up. We enjoyed pouring rice and porridge into cups to show our understanding of empty and full.

Mother’s Day
We took great pride in producing a canvas for our mums for Mother’s Day. We collected branches from forest school and attached them to the canvas. We then scrunched tissue paper to make blossom and stuck it to our branches. We also made a Daffodil card.
We hope our Mum’s liked them.

Outdoor Learning
What fun we had exploring our outdoor area. We climbed on tractor tyres, explored the leaves and trees, listened to the wind and birds singing and we collected branches to make a special project for our mums. We showed independence moving around an unfamiliar area, got very messy and had lots of fun.

RE
In Grasshopper we have been exploring different places of worship. We explored a Christian Church and an Islamic Mosque. We investigated artefacts and even tried some dressing up. It was fun looking at the different artefacts, it helped us to develop our investigation and exploration skills.

Tesco
In Grasshopper we have loved our weekly shopping trips to Tesco. We all sit beautifully on the minibus. Using a pictoral shopping list we hunt for items that we can use in class for snacks, making things in Art and Design Technology and buying items we need for food technology. It’s fun scanning items at the till and paying by card. We are all so well behaved and our teachers are really proud.
