Welcome to Class P5

Welcome to Class P5

We are a Key Stage 3 class of 9 pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9.

The staff members are Miss Rodgers (teacher), Mrs Davies (teaching assistant), Mrs Moorcroft (teaching assistant) and Mr Morris (supply)

In P5, we us a themed based curriculum that incorporates the development of independence skills. We take part in daily phonics sessions and a have fine motor skills and handwriting focus each afternoon.

We will be going shopping each week to buy our class snack and to use our independence and money skills (when we are permitted to go on trips again). In September, we will be hosting our own class ‘cafe’ which will enable our pupils to order, prepare, pay for and eat their own breakfast snacks.

PE is on a Wednesday afternoon so that is the day that you will need to have your kit.

On Thursdays there is a tuck shop and the children are welcome to bring in some money to buy confectionary (50p is a fine amount)

Each pupil in P5 is given a home-school book. This is a way of communicating any important messages and information between home and school.

Each week P5 take part in ‘Big Sing’ and merit assemblies, which will be done virtually in September.

We will be having lunch in our own classrooms when we come back in September and break times will be staggered to ensure social distancing.

We are looking forward to having a fun and exciting year!

We have loved developing our skills in handball during our PE lessons this half term. We have been passing, dribbling and shooting as well applying our skills to game situations.
We celebrated VE day by dressing up in 1940s clothing, trying spam and having a dance to 1940s music!
We were very excited to explore different musical instruments with Mrs Friend. We were rock stars on the guitars and pianists on the keyboards! Great fun!
