Summer 1

Horticulture

This half term, we have been taking part in Horticulture for the first time.  We have loved exploring different areas of the Horticulture section, as well as learning about how to use different types of Horticulture equipment.  Throughout the half term we have been learning how to plant seeds and care for plants.  We have also loved tasting some of the fresh foods that are growing throughout Horticulture!

RE

In RE this half term, we have been exploring different religious symbols and stories.  We thoroughly enjoyed our session creating religious symbol sensory prints.  We worked together as a class to cut out and create different symbol prints.  We had lots of fun shaking sand and flour!

Science

In Science this half term, we have been looking at different aspects of nature.  We started our topic off by completing nature walks around the school grounds.  We used our checklists to tick off what we could find.  We then re-grouped and sorted and discussed what we found.

Careers

We have been working hard to keep the staff at Green Lane happy by running our staff room snack shop.  We shop weekly for food and drinks to keep the shop nice and full.  We then stock and arrange everything we buy, as well as following up IOU notes throughout the week.
